I just finished reading a post at civil3d.com titled Top 5 Civil 3D Implementation Obstacles and I must say I connect with this article as we’ve had these sorts of issues here since purchasing Civil 3D 2006. We now have Civil 3D 2008 and have yet to actually implement ‘06. Yes, we’re that far behind. It was a huge investment that has all but gone to waste for the most part. We have had training and are preparing for another session now, but it’s just not frequent enough to actually begin implementing the software. In addition to that our hardware suffers trying to keep up with the software.

I feel that I have somehow failed in the overall implementation of the product, but then again I have tried to use it in some projects only to be stonewalled by the engineer(s) whose utter lack of faith in me and the product is rather discouraging. I have come to the realization that if the product is to be implemented I am going to have to be the catalyst of the process and I will need to focus and put more effort into learning it. It is a task of grand proportions for an introvert such as myself.

As I make this massive attempt as motivating seemingly unmotivatable people (including myself) I will update this blog so other’s will know of our experiences.
